A novel variable-thrust nuclear thermal propulsion system comprises a hydrogen working medium main propellant supply system, an auxiliary propellant supply system, a propellant mixer, a reactor system, a regenerative cooling spray pipe, a corresponding control system and a corresponding pipeline valve. A thrust is controlled by changing the components of the propellant; a main propellant and an auxiliary propellant are mixed in the propellant mixer, then enter the pressure vessel, are heated by the reactor core, then enter the regeneration cooling spray pipe, expand and accelerate to be discharged out of the whole propelling system, and the thrust is generated. The thrust control mode is safer, and the adopted auxiliary propellants are various in variety, easy to prepare and high in cost performance. The novel variable-thrust nuclear thermal propulsion system is higher in economical efficiency and flexibility and suitable for serving as propulsion power of future deep space exploration spacecrafts.

    一种新型变推力核热推进系统,包括氢工质主推进剂供应系统、辅推进剂供应系统、推进剂混合器、反应堆系统、再生冷却喷管以及相应的控制系统和管路阀门。本发明通过改变推进剂成分来控制推力;主、辅推进剂在推进剂混合器中混合后进入压力容器,被反应堆堆芯加热后进入再生冷却喷管内膨胀加速排出整个推进系统,产生推力。本发明控制推力的方式更加安全,采用的辅推进剂种类多样、容易制备、性价比高。本发明新型变推力核热推进系统经济性、灵活性更高,适合作为未来深空探测航天器的推进动力。
