The invention relates to the technical field of remote driving, and provides a data transmission method and device for a remote driving end of an unmanned vehicle. The method comprises the following steps: when the unmanned vehicle enters a remote driving mode, starting a camera device to collect a video image of the surrounding environment of the unmanned vehicle; detecting the current network bandwidth of the unmanned vehicle in real time; when the detected network bandwidth is greater than or equal to a preset threshold value, transmitting the collected video image of the surrounding environment to a remote driving end of the unmanned vehicle, so that the remote driving end displays the video image of the surrounding environment; when the detected network bandwidth is smaller than a preset threshold value, stopping the transmission of the video image of the surrounding environment, obtaining the text information, associated with the video image, of the surrounding environment through calculation based on the collected video image, and transmitting the text information to a remote driving end; enabling the remote driving end to simulate an image of the surrounding environment of the vehicle based on the text information and displaying the simulated image. According to the invention, the safety of remote driving is improved.
