The invention belongs to the field of high-altitude throwing of meteorological sondes, and provides a mandrel operating mechanism for stably and reliably transporting a meteorological sonde, which can be used as a whole to be mounted in a meteorological sounding pod and operates the meteorological sonde to a to-be-thrown position at a stable angle, and comprises a motor base shaft seat, a mandrel and a tailstock, the motor base shaft seat comprises an electromagnetic lock, a rotating motor and a base shaft seat, the electromagnetic lock is mounted on a mounting hole of the base shaft seat, a limit switch is mounted at the tail end of the lock pin shaft, and the lock pin shaft judges whether the lock pin shaft is attracted or released in place or not through pressing and bouncing of the limit switch. The rotating motor is installed on the basic shaft seat, a motor pin shaft is arranged at the tail end of the rotating motor, the motor pin shaft is inserted into a motor pin shaft hole in the end of the central spindle, and the rotating motor provides power for the whole central spindle operation mechanism.
