The invention discloses a rope adjusting device for a vertical shaft multi-rope friction elevator. An adjusting device body is included and comprises a rope adjusting trolley, adjusting oil cylindersand a rope clamping assembly, the rope clamping assembly comprises a rear wall plate fixedly connected between the adjusting oil cylinders and ball fences slidably connected to the inner walls of theleft side and the right side of the rear wall plate, wedge blocks are slidably connected to the inner walls of the ball fences, fixing blocks are fixedly connected to the left side and the right sideof the front surface of the rear wall plate, and connecting blocks are detachably connected between the fixing blocks. Fixing pins are detachably connected between the fixing blocks and the connectingblocks, and lug plates are fixedly connected to the outer walls of the left side and the right side of the rear wall plate and the outer walls of the sides, close to the adjusting oil cylinders, of the fixing blocks. Rope adjusting operation is conducted through the rope adjusting device, the automatic rope adjusting device with one side clamping and the other side clamping and rope adjusting integrally placed is achieved, except for necessary operation, personnel participation is not needed in the whole rope adjusting work, convenience and rapidness are achieved, and the rope adjusting efficiency is improved.
