The invention relates to a train auxiliary positioning system and method based on a train-mounted controller. The system is based on signal system equipment of conventional rail transit, and the system comprises the train-mounted controller, a train-mounted MVB network, a train PIS system, LTE-TAU equipment, an LTE base station, and a PIS professional wired network. The auxiliary positioning system further comprises a train position display server and a train position display workstation, and the vehicle-mounted controller is sequentially connected with a vehicle-mounted MVB network, a vehiclePIS system, an LTETAU device, an LTE base station, a PIS professional wired network, the train position display server and the train position display workstation. Compared with the prior art, the method has the advantages of small investment, accurate train positioning and the like.
