Disclosed is information from traffic mirrors applied to automated driving. A method for using image data by controlling a device is disclosed. The image data is determined based on reflection of at least one traffic mirror at a transportation hub, where measurement data is received, and the transportation hub with at least one traffic mirror on the predicted trajectory of the vehicle is identified when the measurement data is analyzed. A control command is outputted for adapting speed of the vehicle or for stopping the vehicle at the determined parking point before the transportation hub. Information about the surrounding environment of the vehicle is received. From the reflection of the at least one traffic mirror, image data about an area that can be impairedly seen in the surrounding environment of the vehicle is determined and received. The decision to enter the transportation hub is made based on the determined surrounding environment information about the surrounding environmentof the vehicle and/or the image data determined from the at least one traffic mirror.
