The invention belongs to the technical field of electric power facility inspection equipment, and particularly relates to a hexapod robot for electric power facility inspection, which comprises: a steering engine for controlling foot joint movement of the hexapod robot; a holder which is provided with an optical camera and a thermal imager which are used for shooting electric power facilities, andis provided with an angle adjusting mechanism; a control main board which is used for controlling the steering engine and the angle adjusting mechanism and transmitting the electric power facility images shot by the cradle head; a control terminal which is used for issuing an instruction for controlling the steering engine and the angle adjusting mechanism to the control mainboard and receiving an electric power facility image shot by the cradle head and transmitted by the control mainboard; and a wireless communication device which completes communication between the control mainboard and the control terminal, wherein through cooperation of the sensor system, the vision system and the remote control system with six bionic foot joints, electric power facilities in complex terrains and environments are monitored in real time and warned in time, the workload of electric power detection personnel is reduced, and safety protection of the electric power facilities is improved.
