The invention discloses a current collector applied to a rail transit vehicle and a using method. A problem that in the prior art, the current collector is inconvenient to maintain is solved. The current collector comprises a base, supporting plates, lower supporting arms, an upper supporting arm, an upper swing rod, a lower swing rod and an air cylinder. A first tension spring seat and a first tension spring seat with a lug are arranged between the two supporting plates. The first ends of the lower supporting arms are hinged to the supporting plates, lower swing rods are arranged between themiddles of the lower supporting arms and the first tension spring seat with the lug, and a second tension spring seat is arranged between the two lower supporting arms. A mounting plate is hinged to the first end of the upper supporting arm, and the second end of the upper supporting arm is hinged to the lower supporting arms through a second tension spring seat with the lug; a component is arranged between the upper supporting arm and the second tension spring seat; the first spring is arranged between the first tension spring seat and the first tension spring seat with the lug; the second spring is arranged between the second tension spring seat and the second tension spring seat with the lug; and the cylinder piston rod is fixed on the base and is fixedly connected with the first tension spring seat with the lug. Maintenance of the current collector can be facilitated.
