The invention aims to solve technical problems of inaccurate judgment and consumption of a large amount of electric energy of a mechanical arm unfolding state judgment systemand method based on a photoelectric method in an existing electromagnetic control method, and provides a satellite and space station mechanical arm unfolding control judgment system and method. The system is characterized in that a capacitance sensor is arranged at a joint close to an adjacent mechanical rod; and the capacitance sensor comprises a sensor main body and metal polar plates which arefixedly arranged on the mechanical rods on the two sides of the joint respectively, a capacitance value of the capacitance sensor is maximum when the mechanical arm is unfolded in place, and the unfolding state is judged through the capacitance value output by the capacitance sensor.
