An elevator with a stable operation function comprises a traction wheel and a steel wire rope wounded on the traction wheel. The traction wheel comprises a first traction area, a second traction areaand a third traction area which are sequentially arranged in the axial direction and are all provided with rope grooves. The steel wire rope passes through the rope groove of the first traction area and is guided by a guiding mechanism so as to sequentially pass through and be wounded in the rope grooves of the third traction area and the second traction area. A downward wrap angle 1 is formed bythe steel wire rope and the first traction area. An upward wrap angle 2 is formed between the steel wire rope and the third traction area. A downward wrap angle 3 is formed between the steel wire ropeand the second traction area. The steel wire rope is wounded out of the rope grooves in the tangential direction of exit points where the steel wire rope is in contact with the rope grooves, and thenis wounded in the rope grooves in the tangential direction of enter points where the steel wire rope is in contact with the rope grooves. According to the elevator, the friction area between the steel wire rope and the traction wheel is large, slipping or detaching is not prone to happening, operation of the elevator is stable, damage to a spindle of a traction machine is small, and operation ofthe traction machine can be guaranteed for a long time.
