本发明实现齿轮箱的构造,即使在构成齿轮箱的前侧壳体的壁变薄的情况下,也能确保刚性及成形性。在前侧壳体(15a)的前侧面,以架设于蜗杆收纳部(18a)和构成蜗轮收纳部(17a)的蜗轮用底部(40)的方式,配置加强肋(38a、38b、38c)。使加强肋(38a、38b、38c)的伸长方向与蜗轮和蜗杆的啮合反作用力的作用方向一致。

    A structure of a gear housing is achieved that is capable of ensuring rigidity and moldability even in a case where the thickness of a front-side housing of the gear housing is reduced. Reinforcing ribs 38a, 38b, 38c are arranged on a front side surface of the front-side housing 15a so as to span between a worm housing portion 18a and a worm wheel bottom portion 40 of a worm wheel housing portion 17a. The extending direction of the reinforcing ribs 38a, 38b, 38c is made to coincide with the direction in which an engagement reaction force acts between a worm wheel and a worm.
