The present invention relates to a vehicle interior trim part having a metal surface element provided with at least one planar design, such as a badge, symbol. It is an object of the present inventionto design a novel vehicle interior trim part with a metal surface element, where the planar design does not have the foregoing drawbacks. According to the invention, the solution to achieve the aboveobject is the feature of claim 1, in which the planar design is designed as an engraving produced by removing material, and the engraving has at least in part micro-perforations made up of a plurality of holes.
