The invention discloses a storage tank leakage image detection robot which comprises a vehicle body platform, a driving device, a driven device, a data processor, a power supply device, a main controller, a human-computer interaction interface, an extension antenna, an alarm device, an anti-collision device and a camera device. The driving device and the driven device are installed at the two endsof the bottom of the vehicle body platform in an aligned mode. The data processor, the power supply device, the main controller, the man-machine interaction interface, the extension antenna, then alarm device, the anti-collision device and the camera device are installed and connected to the top of the vehicle body platform, wherein the anti-collision device, the camera device and the driving device are positioned at one end of the vehicle body platform, the main controller is electrically connected with the alarm device, the anti-collision device, the data processor, the human-computer interaction interface, the power supply device and the driving device, and the data processor is electrically connected with the extension antenna and the camera device. The invention further provides a use method of the robot. The storage tank leakage image detection robot has the characteristics of being capable of effectively and accurately detecting leakage of the storage tank and the like.
