The invention discloses a traction return current structure of an alternating-current traction power supply type toothed railway. The traction return current structure is invented to effectively reduce the potential difference between a toothed rail and a steel rail and reduce the risk of safety accidents of maintainers. A double line railway comprises an ascending left steel rail, an ascending right steel rail, an ascending toothed rail track, a descending left steel rail, a descending right steel rail and a descending toothed rail track. The ascending left steel rail is connected with the ascending right steel rail through an ascending choke transformer, and a neutral point of the ascending choke transformer is connected with the ascending toothed rail through a first cable; the descending left steel rail is connected with the descending right steel rail through a descending choke transformer, and the neutral point of the descending choke transformer is connected with the descendingtoothed rail through a second cable; the ascending right steel rail is connected with the descending left steel rail through third cables at intervals, and the ascending toothed rail is connected withthe descending toothed rail through fourth cables at intervals.
