The invention relates to a novel foot plate structure for a stairlift, which comprises an upper cover plate and a lower cover plate, wherein a foot plate baseplate is arranged between the upper cover plate and the lower cover plate; the surface of the foot plate baseplate is bonded to the upper cover plate; a plurality of mounting holes are formed in the foot plate baseplate; a plurality of rivet nuts are mounted in the mounting holes; and a plurality of connecting screws pass through screw mounting holes of the lower cover plate and are connected with the rivet nuts. The novel foot plate structure is simple in structure and convenient to use, realizes the motion of the lower cover plate relative to the foot plate baseplate by virtue of connecting gaps between the connecting screws and the rivet nuts, ensures that the upper cover plate is motionless, avoids the problem in an original stairlift that an upper cover plate is lifted when the bottom of a lower cover plate is contacted with an object, and greatly improves the comfort degree and safety coefficient of a user.
