The invention provides a vehicle energy saving control method. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring sliding working condition operating parameters; judging whether the sliding working condition operating parameters satisfy a sliding working condition entry condition; starting an engine stop mode when the sliding working condition operating parameters satisfy the sliding working condition entry condition; acquiring gear change parameters when the sliding working condition operating parameters satisfy a sliding working condition exit condition; determining an optimal gear according to the gear change parameters and preset shifting strategy rules, and reminding a driver to switch the gear to the optimal gear; acquiring engine speed change parameters; determining a target engine speed according to the engine speed change parameters and driving the engine to reach the target engine speed. The vehicle energy saving control method provided by the invention has the advantages of reducing fuel consumption and improving oil saving effect.
