The present invention relates to a method and a system for monitoring tire pressure. The system of the present invention includes: a frequency measurement part for measuring a frequency of a number of tires installed in a vehicle; a frequency analysis part which calculates a first average frequency by accumulating frequencies measured by the frequency measurement part in a tire replacement mode according to a speed zone, and then stores the first average frequency as a normal pressure reference frequency, and stores a second average frequency as a determination frequency after calculating the second average frequency by accumulating frequencies measured by the frequency measurement part in a traveling mode according to a speed zone; a low pressure probability calculation part which calculates a low pressure probability per speed zone of the tire using the determination frequency, a previously established low pressure reference frequency and a previously established low pressure reference frequency determination zone; and a low pressure determination part which determines a low pressure of each tire by summating the low pressure probability per speed zone of the tire calculated by the low pressure probability calculation part.
