The invention relates to a variable-gradient speed limit rope guide device and method which are suitable for guidance of an oblique movement container speed limit rope which conducts gradient change or track change operation to adapt to the profiles of buildings or the roadway working conditions. The variable-gradient speed limit rope guide device comprises speed limit rope lifting devices and speed limit rope downward-pressing devices. The speed limit rope is prevented from sagging through the speed limit rope lifting devices and prevented from floating through the limit rope downward-pressing devices, so that forced guidance of the speed limit rope is achieved. By means of the variable-gradient speed limit rope guide device, the variable gradient requirement can be met, overspeed protection of an oblique movement container is achieved under the variable gradient condition, the speed limit rope can adapt to changes of the gradient, and the barrier existing in the development of the oblique movement container in the slope self-adapting direction is solved. The variable-gradient speed limit rope guide device is simple in structure, reliable in work and convenient to mount.
