The invention discloses a method for controlling the electrical output of a locomotive braking machine. The method comprises the following steps: when an overcurrent phenomenon occurs, a breaking order of the braking machine is transmitted, and after the breaking order is transmitted, the situation whether the overcurrent phenomenon is eliminated or not is also detected; when the situation that the overcurrent phenomenon is eliminated is detected, dither detection is performed, the situation whether the overcurrent phenomenon is caused by dither or not is judged according to a result of the dither detection, when the overcurrent phenomenon is caused by the dither, an electrical output opening of the braking machine is continuously closed, when the overcurrent phenomenon is not caused by the dither, enabling energy is outputted to the electrical output opening of a braking and controlling unit so as to restore normal functions of the braking machine, so that the enabling energy can be automatically outputted to the electrical output opening of the braking and controlling unit after the overcurrent phenomenon is eliminated when the overcurrent phenomenon is not caused by the dither, the situation that overcurrent protection is eliminated through manually restarting the braking and controlling unit or pressing control panel buttons is avoided, the operational difficulty of a driver is reduced, and besides the operational safety of a locomotive is improved. The invention further discloses a device for controlling the electrical output of the locomotive braking machine.
