The blocks of each edge row are formed such that the outer side surfaces thereof are all the same distance from the equatorial plane. The width of the transverse grooves (1) between the blocks (3, 3') gradually increase at least from a nonzero distance measured from the outermost axial end of the outside side surfaces of the blocks. The maximum transverse groove width increase is more than 20% and less than 50% of the maximum circumferential length Le of each block.
