The invention relates to the technical field of hubs, and in particular to a light-weight hub made of steel-aluminum composite materials. The hub comprises an aluminum alloy base body, an outer side bearing hole steel sleeve, an inner side bearing hole steel sleeve and a plurality of bolt hole steel inserts. The steel inserts are arranged in a plurality of wheel bolt holes and a plurality of brake disc bolt holes in the peripheral side of a flange of the aluminum alloy base body. An outer side bearing outer ring and an inner side bearing outer ring are arranged in the outer side bearing hole steel sleeve and the inner side bearing hole steel sleeve in an interference press fitting manner, and therefore the outer side bearing outer ring and the inner side bearing outer ring are fixedly connected with a hub body. The light-weight hub has the technical effects that weight is low, wherein the weight reducing ratio is larger than 50% relative to ferrous metal; strength is high, wherein relative to aluminum alloy and other light materials, the local yield strength is improved to above 353 Mpa from 206 Mpa, and is improved by 30%, and meanwhile, a large process adjusting range remains; the process face is large, wherein the molding process is suitable for hub products in all the structural shapes; and cost is low, wherein the cost is lowered relative to the manner of adopting overall high-strength aluminum alloy.
