The invention discloses a charging system comprising a power supply rail and a current collector. The current collector comprises a collector slipper and a collector slipper driving mechanism. The power supply rail is located beside a position over a vehicle at a charging position, and comprises a vertical insulated substrate and multiple power supply electrodes integrated into the side surface of the insulated substrate. The power supply electrodes are distributed in parallel at intervals in the up-down direction. The collector slipper driving mechanism drives the collector slipper and provides the collector slipper with vertical lifting stroke and transverse movement stroke. The collector electrodes of the collector slipper are arranged on the outer side of the collector slipper in the transverse movement direction and are distributed in parallel at intervals in the up-down direction. The charging system enables large parking positional deviation so as to facilitate vehicle operation, is provided with a heavy-current conducting capability and a reliable insulating property, facilitates accurate and stable positioning of the collector slipper and the power supply rail while guaranteeing safe distance between the charging system and pedestrians, guarantees safe and normal travel of vehicles, and is especially suitable for modern energy-storing electric buses.
