This sound detection device is a sound detection device that is mounted in a mobile body, which is provided with: a sound detection unit which detects peripheral sound of the mobile body; and an assessment unit which, on the basis of a degree of correlation between sound pressure information of a pre-set first frequency band in the peripheral sound detected by the sound detection unit and sound pressure information of a second frequency band of different frequencies than the first frequency band in the peripheral sound detected by the sound detection unit, assesses whether a sound source to be detected in the periphery of the mobile body exists and/or approaches to the mobile body and/or withdraws from the mobile body.
