The invention discloses a taxi sharing method. A taxi-mounted GPS device and a taxi-mounted positioning and reporting device are arranged. A taxi driver reports the current position and passenger destination information to a taxi dispatching platform at set time intervals via the taxi-mounted positioning and reporting device, and the taxi dispatching platform publishes the above received taxi information to the network in real time; a passenger in need of taxi sharing logs into the taxi dispatching platform via a portable internet device with a positioning function and sends the position information and the arrival destination information to the taxi dispatching platform; and the taxi dispatching platform sends a contact number of a taxi driver who meets light loading and the same direction around the position where the passenger is located to the passenger in need of taxi sharing according to the position information and the arrival destination information of the passenger in need of taxi sharing, and taxi fee is negotiated among passengers who share the taxi. The taxi sharing method has the advantages that the waiting time of the passenger and the light loading rate of the taxi are effectively reduced, and the driving efficiency of the taxi is improved.
