The present disclosure provide non-invasive and contactless intoxication detection methods and systems. For example, there is provided a non-invasive method for assessing the intoxication status or level of an individual, the method comprising: receiving a thermographic image comprising a face or facial features of the individual, performing pre-processing of the thermographic image to provide a pre-processed image, identifying a face portion comprising the face or facial features in the pre-processed image, and analyzing the face portion using an intoxication assessment method to assess the intoxication status. Systems for performing the disclosed methods are also provided.
