In order to provide an acoustically transparent member that has an acoustically transparent band with an appropriate extent in a high frequency region and assures constant strength, an acoustically transparent member 10 is so configured that a core layer 104 is laminated between two skin layers 102A and 102B, and the skin layers 102A and 102B are formed of material with a higher degree of elasticity than a degree of elasticity of the core layer 104. A thickness ds of the skin layers satisfies the following formula (1) with respect to a center frequency f of a transparent frequency band, a sound velocity cw inside a medium surrounding the acoustically transparent member 10, a wavelength λ corresponding to the center frequency inside the medium, a longitudinal wave sound velocity cds inside the skin layers, and any natural number n.
