AbstractThe relation among V-type asteroids in the Main Belt, the large basaltic asteroid (4) Vesta and the HED meteorites is a long standing issue. To better constraint this relation we analysed the spectral parameter distribution of a sample of V-type asteroids, located in the vicinity of (4) Vesta, and of basaltic achondrites meteorites. Our results indicate that among the V-type asteroids there exist slightly distinct mineralogies which could be explained either as coming from different depths of the asteroid (4) Vesta or from different bodies.
