AbstractThe two-year phase B activities for the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) were completed at the end of March 1987. The phase B activities were conducted according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in May 1985 between the Science and Technology Agency(STA) of Japan and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA). Phase B activities were composed of detailed definition and preliminary design and advanced technology development. Phase C/D preparations are now under way. This paper shows the results of phase B and current project status.
