Validation of human-in-the-loop simulators is an important aspect to improve reliability and containment of simultaor study results. Both, objective and subjective validity may be important depending on the evaluated reseach questions. However, the perception of virtual environments and their physical correctness might sometimes be contradictonary. Thus, a good validation directed to the respective research area is neccessary to design the simulator environment in a good way and to understand its limits. This presentation shows past and current efforts of the DLR Institute of Transportation systems within the area of validation of pedestrian and bicycle simulators and gives an outlook on upcoming activities.
