Effect of methanol on sorption of acrylonitrile in nylon fiber and on stability of polyamide radicals produced under γ-irradiation; presence of methyl alcohol in nylon fiber leaves coefficients of diffusion and permeability practically unchanged; addition of methanol results in considerable increase in rate of macroradicals destruction; higher rate of graft polymerization of acrylonitrile on irradiated nylon fiber in presence of methanol is due to increased activity of polyamide radicals.
