Different results obtained in propeller blade design by using various design procedures, and method in use at Vasca di Roma and Centro Esperienze Idrodinamiche of Italian Navy are described; experiments were conducted to control validity of proposed blade-design procedure, to study influence of camber on propeller performance, and to show improvement in cavitation and efficiency by using proper hydrodynamic profiles, with carefully selected thickness ratio.
