Method is developed to determine theoretical aerodynamic characteristics of VTOL-STOL aircraft; wing is represented by network of horseshoe vortices distributed on surface and trailing behind; jet efflux is represented with rectangular horseshoe vortex network in shape of curved tube; strength of each vortex segment is determined by requiring that flow be parallel to surface at number of control points; equations resolve into series of N equations with N unknowns that may be solved by computer using standard matrix inversion methods.
