Changes in morphological structure of cellulose fibers at different acetylation stages are studied; transverse and reticular type swelling structures were cause of turbidity in solution; cellulose acetates obtained from such fibers have lower degrees of acetylation; initially uniform fibers swell more uniformly and dissolve easily; partial and complete acetylation under adiabatic conditions for various wood pulps and linters showed that cellulose does not undergo acetylation uniformly.
