Method of predicting conditions under which reactor space of nuclear ship will remain intact, and what structural strength should be built into hull outboard of reactor plant to absorb safely given amount of kinetic energy in collision; 26 collisions were analyzed for kinetic energy absorbed in collision and for extent of damage on basis of data for speeds, angle of encounter, displacements, drafts, and extent and location of damage.
