410-mi project on Northern Pacific between Dilworth, Minn, and Glendive, Mont, includes independent radio transmitter-receiver stations on both ends of 13 diesel electric locomotives and 35 cabooses, for end-to-end communication on all through freight trains on four subdivisions involved; minimizes delays caused by hot boxes, brake riggings down, trains stalled in snow or flooded tracks.
