Variation of degree of polymerization, mechanical properties, and internal surface of cellulose fibers; ultrasonic treatment of cellulose fibers in water changes fiber shape, causes breakdown of hydrogen bonds and loosens morphological structure of fibers to various degrees, thereby increasing internal surface of fibers and mechanical strength of products made from treated fibers; it also causes degradation of cellulose molecules.
