Basically, there are 2 Jet Belfasts, SC.5/41 which is civil version and SC.5/45 which is military version, being built by Short Brothers and Harland Ltd; both would use 4 Rolls-Royce RB.178 Super Conway turbofans which would have thrust of order of 25,000 lb each; all-up weight would be 420,000 lb (compared with 225,000 lb for turboprop Belfast SC.5/10 now flying) and cruising speed in excess of 500 mph; swing-nose loading entry is designed for Jet Belfast as best loading arrangement for civil and military freighting; adoption of wing and tail of Lockheed C.141 and forward fuselage of turboprop Belfast.
