Summary of development of quasilinear theory for rectangular-type antirolling tank and results of experimental study; it was found that initial theoretical method, although it reflects gross behavior of fluid in tank and moments exerted on ship therefrom, should be regarded as foundation for better understanding rather than as design technique; experimental findings indicate that antiroll tank is nonlinear control element over its practical range of operation.
