Study deals with correction of excessive hull vibration in DD692 Class Destroyers (excited by ship's propulsion system) by utilizing set of standard force generators (dunce caps) installed on after face of propellers; these generators are modified to accommodate balance weights that may be adjusted with ship afloat by scuba diver; analytical technique is presented which, with combination of experimentally established damping factors, permits prediction of hull response to known inputs of excitation force at various input locations.
