Paper presents legal and technical possibilities, architecture and principle of work of the Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) system prepared and established by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Intersessional Working Group on LRIT and described in resolutions: MSC.202(81), MSC.210(81) and MSC.211(81), adopted by Maritime Safety Committee of this Organisation.
