Animation is playing a key role towards multimedia based learning and teaching. Through animation various principles and topics can be easily simulated and defined. In this project a 3D animated movie is developed using Autodesk Maya, to teach the students and children about how to perform Namaz {Prayer}. We use the cognitive theory of multimedia learning to design a 3D animated video for performing Namaz {Prayer}, highlighting the correct methods of performing various rukuns {essential steps} {essential steps}{essential parts} of Namaz {Prayer} along with their appropriate recitation in Arabic, with Urdu, Sindhi Translation. In order to create an animated movie, 3D modelling, texturing, rigging and animation of human characters (male and female) is done in Maya. The animation process involved using key-frames to set key poses of human character while performing Namaz {Prayer}. For this purpose, the key poses were identified in the analysis phase of development and implemented in Maya through a standard key-frame and pose to pose animation technique. The final renders of animation are exported into premier for post production. In this phase, the 2D and 3D are combined to produce the final video that contains a 3D animation of Namaz {Prayer}, with 2D images based composition of Surahs and highlighting the other rukuns {essential steps} recited during Namaz {Prayer}.
