Tomas Gembeckas. Effectiveness of virtual training system „RIABLO“ for patient‘s after knee anterior cruciate ligament reconstructive operation. Master's thesis. Supervisor - Dr. Alma Kajėnienė Lithuanian university of health sciences, Medical academy, Faculty of nursing, Institute of sport. Kaunas, 2018. 67 p. Work objective: To estimate effectiveness of virtual training system „RIABLO” on patients after anterior cruciate ligament reconstructive operation. Tasks: 1) To evaluate effectiveness of virtual training system “RIABLO” on range of motion of knee; 2) To estimate effectiveness of virtual training system “RIABLO” on thigh and calf muscle power and volume; 3) To estimate effectiveness of virtual training system “RIABLO” on knee pain; 4) To estimate effectiveness of virtual training system “RIABLO” on patient’s gate after knee anterior cruciate ligament reconstructive operation; 5) To estimate effectiveness of virtual training system “RIABLO” on knee function and daily activities. Methodology of investigation: 1) Range of motion was evaluated by goniometer. 2) Power of thighand calf muscle’s was measured by dynamometer “Tracker”. Volume of thigh and calf muscles was measured with centimeter strip; 3) Pain of knee was evaluated with SAS scale; 4) Gait was analyzed by computerized system “Zebris”; 5) Functional state of knee and daily activities were evaluated by Lysholm questionnaire and lower limbs function assessment questionnaire. Research participants: 26 persons after anterior cruciate ligament reconstructive operation were investigated, divided into two researched groups: researched 1 performed usual physiotherapy (1 hour per day) (9 men 32.11±8.43 years and 4 women 40.25±4.57 years.) and group 2 performed usual physiotherapy (30min.) with virtual training system “RIABLO” (30min.) (8 men 32.25±7.57 years and 5 women 35.00±8.48 years). Conclusions: 1. The virtual training system “RIABLO” in combination with the usual physiotherapy is effective for increasing range of motion of knee in women after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction operation. 2. The virtual training system “RIABLO” in combination with the usual physiotherapy increases calf muscles power and thigh and calf muscles volume after ACL reconstruction. 3. The virtual training system “RIABLO” in combination with the usual physiotherapy decreases pain after ACL reconstruction. 4. The virtual training system “RIABLO” in combination with the usual physiotherapy improves gait: for women reduces step width, for men reduces foot deviation, step width and increases number of steps taken per minute. 5. The virtual training system “RIABLO” in combination with the usual physiotherapy effectively improves knee function and facilities daily activities for women after ACL reconstruction.
