Regional transportation integration requires the high accessibility of regional transportation network, as well as the rational allocation of regional transportation resources. For trip-makers travel time has signified the accessibility of transportation network to a large extent. Meaningful to rail transportation operation sector is it that how to address various and multi-level demands for travel times under the rational configuration of transportation resources. In this paper, impacts on regional trip behaviors by the improvement of travel speed is pointed out on the basis of the analysis of regional transportation integration. Classification of regional trips is conducted, features summarized and requirements for travel time and trip period illuminated. Additionally, from the perspective of operation costs, the structure of travel speed for intercity and intracity is given in compliment with those requirements. Some relevant suggestions are proposed according to speed structures.
