The study presented in the paper is to analyze the feasibility of recognizing construction conflicts by driver’s eye movement, and to explore a construction conflict fast recognition method based on driver’s eye movement. Driver’s eye movement data in the simulated construction environment conflicts at different speeds were collected. Correlation coefficients between blink moments, gaze change angles, pupil diameters, and construction conflicts are calculated and analyzed. Key points of the conflict have been defined through analyzing the relationship between peak points of pupil diameter, mean pupil diameter, blink moments, and driver’s mental load. And those key points and the GSA are used to explore the construction conflict fast recognition method. It is verified that recognizing construction conflicts using pupil diameters and blink moments is feasible. And the higher simulated construction conflict recognition speed and more accurate positions of proposed CCFRM are verified. The conclusion is that eye movement can be used to recognize construction conflict, and the GSA based CCFRM has higher operation speed and more accurate location.
