Urban Rail transit (URT) has become an indispensable component of urban transportation system. Its far-reaching social and economical influence requires detailed planning before construction, of which passenger volume forecast is one key part. Considering the relation between data necessary for URT passenger volume forecast and geological information, we bring forward a method to proceed GIS based passenger volume forecast according with the procedure of data organization, processing, analysis and representation. Our analyzing focus is the creation of standard geological information database for passenger volume forecast and the integrated assignment between URT and common public transportation in a super network.
