Based on vehicle-track coupled dynamic theory, a heavy haul vehicle-ballasted track-subgrade dynamics model was developed, in which the coupling effect between the vehicle, the ballasted track, and the subgrade was taken into full consideration. The effect of the variation of the wavelength and the wave depth of rail weld irregularity on the dynamic response of heavy haul railway track-subgrade system was analyzed by a combined numerical simulation method of new rapid explicit-Newmark implicit integration method. The results show that for the weld irregularity, the more wave depth caused more vertical dynamic displacement and more vertical dynamic stress. The increase in the wave depth of the shortwave also has significant effect on the vibration acceleration of the system.
