This paper provides a basis for vehicle movement trajectory reconstruction in two-dimension collision accidents and accidents disposal. On the basis of studies of predecessors, a different method of impact point named Area Method is put forward. By the statistical analysis of vehicle structure parameters, the moment of inertia calculation formula circling vehicles' center of mass is improved as well as vehicle movement trajectory model. The trajectory error indexes have also been set up. By using the movement trajectory model of the accident vehicle, the trajectories of accident vehicles for some accident cases have been reconstructed. By using the trajectory error indexes, the reconstruction results of the model and the tire marks at the scene have been contrasted and analyzed. The result of analysis indicates that the calculation results of model and the tire marks at the scene are similar, which validates the efficiency of this proposed method.
