With the increase of urban traffic congestion, urban rail transit has been an effective measure to tackle urban transport problems. The train maximum speed directly affects the safe interval time of train and imposes the influence on the operational efficiency of urban rail transit. The objective of this paper is to deduce the calculation formula of the safe interval time at the two different conditions, quasi-movable block and moving block. As well, the train maximum running speed and optimal value in the different conditions are presented.
