In order to know the effect of freeze-thaw action and soil compression on the post-construction deformation of widening high embankment in seasonal frozen regions, we combined with the survey of Fangzheng-Harbin section of Tongsan highway, had consolidation test and triaxial compression test of filled soil which was after several times freeze-thaw cycles and had different water content and compaction, put forward the value of soil compaction in different height of high embankment in widening project, then combined with the detection of soil compaction and the monitoring of roadbed settlement deformation on site, finally verified the rationality and effectiveness for the value of soil compaction. The results showed that when water content was optimal water content, the higher soil compaction, the higher soil cohesion, the smaller loss of cohesion after freeze-thaw cycle; the control value of soil compaction for widening high embankment in seasonal frozen regions was: roadbed was 97%, the upper embankment was 95%, the lower embankment was 94%; During the construction of widening roadbed in seasonal frozen regions, to decide reasonable control standard of soil compaction had important function for reducing the roadbed settlement.
