E-bikes play an important role in the urban transportation system in China. E-bike riders’ red-light running behaviors are the most critical factors for a large number of crashes at signalized intersections. The present study sets out to examine the factors which affect E-bike riders’ red-light running behaviors at signalized intersections. An observation study was conducted to collect the rider’s characteristics and associated factors in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. Based on the valid samples, a logistic model was established to assess impacts of contribution factors on E-bike riders’ red-light running behaviors. This study provides valuable insights in understanding E-bike riders’ red-light running behaviors, and proposes countermeasures to reduce crashes at signalized intersections in China.
